Roger has walked in your shoes.
From Geologist to Global CEO Advisor
From the rainforests of West Africa to the boardrooms of the world — Roger’s journey has been anything but traditional. But traditional journeys yield traditional results. Roger wanted more.
He grew up on the south coast of England and attended a school in Portsmouth that was ranked near the bottom of the local league tables. Thanks to the encouragement of two exceptional teachers, he became the first pupil in over a decade to go to university. He earned a BSc (Hons) in Geology and then an MSc in Oceanography.
Determined to see the world, he became a geologist, working in the remote areas of West Africa and the North Sea. He travelled to places tourists seldom visit and enjoyed mixing with different cultures. But by his late twenties, he realised that studying rocks wasn’t his calling.
To pivot into global business, he earned an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and embarked on a corporate career. He took on international roles with firms including Chase Manhattan Bank, Amadeus IT, and Korn/Ferry International. His work spanned market entry, sales strategy global key accounts, consulting and senior leadership recruitment across Europe, the US, and Asia.
The Turning Point
The death of his father triggered a deep period of reflection. Roger left his corporate role to build something of his own.
He started with no market reputation, no clients, and no idea how to win work — let alone with CEOs.
There were moments when he thought about giving up. But instead, he studied what successful, in-demand experts were doing differently.
Building Authority the Hard Way
Roger applied what he learned to his own business. He became a best-selling business author, contributed to the Harvard Business Review and INSEAD Knowledge, and had his work featured in the Financial Times, Forbes, The Sunday Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
His client base grew to include CEOs and senior leaders across Europe, the US, the Middle East, Africa, and Australasia. To deepen his ability to support mindset and behavioural change at the highest level, he earned a Master’s in Clinical Organisational Psychology (Consulting and Coaching for Change) from INSEAD.
The Recognised Authority Formula™
As more consultants and coaches asked how he built his reputation, Roger codified everything he had learned. In 2020, he launched the Recognised Authority Formula™ — a structured, insight-led path for solo consultants and boutique firms to attract senior decision-makers and build a trusted pipeline.
His mission?
To help 10,000 professional service providers become the recognised authority in their market and enjoy the success they deserve.
